Illinois cannot afford to enter a second year without a budget. The budget impasse impacts young children and their families, from child care assistance to developmental services to income supports to families to health and mental health services.

While partial funding bills get desperately needed payments to service providers and the communities they serve to provide short-term relief, they are not enough. Governor Rauner and the General Assembly must put non-budget agenda items and politics aside and pass a fully funded, year-long budget that chooses revenue before FY16 ends on June 30^th. Illinois can’t wait any longer.
